These are pre-turned steel parts, after rough turning on vertical and horizontal lathes. We deliver semi-parts with only 3mm allowance.

Benefits of using rough turning parts: shells and bores
Large steel parts are most often made from forgings, whose irregular surface requires roughing at very slow feeds. This generates high production costs.
In the case of shells and lathings, such a cost does not arise, it is possible to perform a quick turning process. In the case of rolled forgings, the process is simpler, but their price is higher.

The price of steel for sheaths and borings is still lower than that of locally purchased steel products, even when long-distance transportation costs are added.

We perform the roughing process, which allows us to save time and money – approx. 30% of the cost of turning.

What parts can be produced from blanks and how to size them
We supply steel shells and borings from which rings, shafts, sleeves, rollers, eccentrics and many other products can be produced.
Below we present sample details ( these are not the maximum available dimensions ) and the recommended dimensioning method.
Dimensions include 3mm allowance for surrounds.

Transport and packaging
The casings and the rolls are prepared for sea and road transport. They are stored in wooden boxes, covered with a layer of grease and wrapped in protective foil.
The method of protection allows the elements to be stored for a long time, and thanks to appropriate impregnation, the casing and the fillet do not rust.

Where are the shells and fillets produced?Our shells and borings have been produced since 2011 by our supplier from China. This is a family foundry with traditions dating back to the 60s. They supply steel globally.

What is the delivery time?Production time (lead time) is 4 weeks. To this we add the transport time from Shanghai to the port in Gdynia.

What is the difference between a shell and a martingale?The casing is a steel detail with a 3 mm allowance, which is ultimately turned by the Ordering Party. A boring is a casing without allowance, after full turning processing with the tolerance specified in the technical documentation.

What are the possible dimensions and weight?We offer the following dimensions of blanks for rings and shafts: The maximum outer diameter of the rings is 4000 mm (after sending the drawings we will confirm to what extent transport is possible), The maximum weight of the shafts is 5000 kg.
